The service manual does say its OK to cut them, but next time I do them I wouldn't cut them again.Jordi wrote: In my opinion you do not cut the seal then fit it. Some say this is fine, to me it's asking for trouble.
One of mine is cut and the other one isn't and both the oil seals have been destroyed anyway so I'm not sure it makes that much difference.
