when we did our garage floor and the top workshop floor we did ratio of about 5-1 i think remember correctly and it was dry in about a week. and floated and got a shuffer boards to make it flat. Then got some commercial floor paint (not the b n q stuff) and gave about 3 coats each and its been fine! :D otherwise the garage is looking very smart. I presume the first floor is going to be part of the house? or is it part of the garage?

I'm going to monitor it using the 'plastic sheet' method, there is a DPC so it won't draw more moisture from below.
First floor will be a couple of bedrooms, on the outer side there will be a bit of roofspace that I will be able to use for storage.
