the negative wire that goes to the positive melted few weeks ago and replaced it today and everything started to smoke again so ripped it off the car works fine now but the lights !!

Errmmm the negative never go to the positive! Ollie before you do anything with those wires take a picture for us and we'll show you what goes where!
Otherwise your SJ might end up looking like that one ^^^^^^^^^

i wacked it in the same place as it was when i got it so no wonder it set on fire like 2 weeks after i got it

Oh i have just red through. i didnt link the battery terminal negative to the postive. I was the wire thats the earth that goes from the positive and bolts onto the body

take that wire out as quick as you can ollie. this is putting power on everything the wrong way round, and you can cause some serious damage. there should be a wire from the negative terminal on the battery to the body, this is where all the power comes back. the positive terminal on the battery supplies all the power to your car, and shouldn't be connected to the car body, or it will burn down

Only the negative gets earthed. All positive wires need to be insulated from earthing out. If the positive earths by mistake it would the fuse. Thats the idea of fuses.
