Welcome

To truely check if it is transmission wind up stopping you from disengaging 4wd jack a wheel off the floor or release a front hub if it has free wheeling hubs.

Update on the stuck transfer box. Knocked down the back wall of my garage (was planning to anyway), drove her up to the back of the house, reversed back into the garage and transfer box now free and changing without a problem! Must have been transmission wind up. One problem solved, now onto the next one. Starts well with a good throttle pump but will not tick over even when I've warmed her up a bit. Anything obvious? Can't get to have a look as she stalls before I can get out and around to the bonnet. May have to rig up a Mr Bean broom handle to the throttle pedal...any advice welcome.

Rig up your Mr Bean broom handle and then spray something like brake cleaner around the carb and inlet manifold. If you have an air leak the RPM will go up when it sucks the spray in.
This is why mine wouldn't tick over anyway and there are so many soddin pipes if you still have the original carb fitted.
