Re: sammi soft top, found more holes
well more stripping was done tonight.
the wheels and spacers have been removed and my spare little winter muds added for now. checked for play and the front bearings loose and the ball joint on the tie bar is dead. bumhats
screen and surround has gone in one, found a large hole and some wire mesh .... nice. will weld this up. now its off the car.
removed the bonnet, this will be replaced with the one thats ment to be on the pick up as its a soft top bonnet with the loop. i didnt want to buy another bonnet but this ones poo, its bent dented and has crap riveted to it
found some holes, nothing to bad really. old bonnet will be recycled to repair these

checker plated cills means one thing really... that they are going to be rotten.

end of play today

next step is engine out and fuel tank off.

Re: dijon the softop. update 3/4
Coming on nice, good to see another SJ getting all the right treatment!

Re: dijon the softop. update 3/4
things have gone slightly downhill on this sami. ive found bodge after bodge. after removing the seats to repair a small hole, it revealed the rear of the lower floor section was undersealed fibre glass. this zooks gone from a quick tidy up to a project. and i already have one of those.
so ive had a think and its either cut my losses and scrap it, or MTFU and get it sorted.
hmmm decisions .
watch this space ........
