I thought the same so got a cheap £20 crook lock, when the kids tried to steal my SJ I found it bent in half, it was £20 wasted. Now I have a disk lock on it & no one has tried to steal it since. My advice to you about an immboliser, is get the fitted 1! You have the certificate for insurance for years to come & if your SJ does get stole & trashed you will be more than £109 out of pocket - if the police recover it its a £250 charge with £50per day storage!

This looks good value, if your insurance company will allow you to fit it. Lets face it there's not much you can immobilise electrically on an non ecu SJ. Starter circuit and feed to the coil or dizzy. You can get around both with only a length of wire but hopefully the thieving bastards won't know how it's immobilised or how to do this.

Well a guy at my work is thatcham cat 5 registered so he would be approved to fit it for me

When it was stolen last year it was recovered and I paid £150 recovery charge the next day

As for the steering lock. Nothing comes close to a proper disclock. Thieves will take one look at it and walk away

Bargain then, when I got knocked off my mororbike & taken to hospital the police recovered my bike, it was a charged at £250 with £50 per day storage - absolutely rediculous for a glorified pushbike, I'm assuming you used a private garage? I was never given the option.

And like you said about the disklock its a great piece of kit & is an investment, a disklock Will last a life time & you can keep it an use it in any car

With regards the electric fuel pump. I retrofitted one hence why I could put a swith on it. I know they can coonect mechanical pump but thats more messing for a thief. They dont like to hang around,

The recovery company was a local one that have a contract with the police to recover stolen vehicles or abandoned/ broken not taxed etc. They said i could pay £150 to drive the vehicle away if i am happy to, or i can claim on the insurance and they would then pay the fee but keep the vehicle. I chose to pay it myself and drive it away the same day.
