Whilst i've never done an engine swap myself i have various associates who like a bit more power thought id give a few examples.
Audi quattro into and LJ
3.5 V8 into an SJ
1.3GTi into and SJ. No dizzy mod just a modded bulkhead
M5 powered thing, similar to a Simbughini.
I'm a believer of any engine will go into anything. So long as its cheap enuf to buy and you can get all of the wiring harness and ECU with it.
If your going whe whole injection way i would go swift gti or Vit 1600. Same work but more gain over the jimny lump.

I'll keep the old engine then
I could buy another one instead, and mod that. It's what everyone else is doing
Yeah I'm so jelous of your 410, Are you on the road yet? I'd love to see it in the flesh, And seriusly if you mod it you will just loose some of the character, I don't think you realise how hard it is to get hold of an un-molested example!

Alright. I'll be on the road about October November, provided I pass first time. I'm planning to start some of the rust repairs soon, so I'll take pics of that and post 'em up
I'm gonna stop stealing Skywalkers thread now

I dont think there really is much of a difference apart from the fact you can say for certain that a baleno lump would have probably had an easier life and not been underwater a few times

Thanks all, I was just about ready to give up on this when I realised it was fuel injection but after seeing all the mail I may take it further! The immobiliser switches and ignition are a definite off-put and I did look at the 1.6 Vitara 8v, but there aren't that many around now and I need to get it done pronto.
Anyway, many thanks again and I'll let you know how I get on!
