You can run the centred rear diff but you will need to get the driveshaft angles perfect...I.e tbox and diff pinion flanges parallel or it will vibrate like mad at any sort of speed.
How competent are you with fabrication as it's a big job to do a coil conversion....especially to do it well.

is it worth doing in the long run ?? or is it better to just leave it as it is ?

Depends what you want from it. Mine on relatively standard springs flexes well and isn't too uncomfortable considering. Scotties flexes really really well and I'm guessing is alot better ride comfort wise with the Yj's. My mate had a coil spring sj and it rolled over every ten mins and I'm seriously not exaggerating, that's the reason ill never coil one of mine.
If it's a competition truck then yes do it otherwise I'd say no buy a Jimmy! But that is only my opinion, it's up to you
