Did a little today...anything I can get to without bending lol. The rear end of the frame had a little surface rust so I cleaned that all up...not going for a full resto as yet as I want to ride the damn thing. Started cleaning up the Allspeeds as well...and the clock protector ace bars arrived...

And some more...finished doing one exhaust but I'm not happy with it, I think it needs re-chroming but that ain't cheap! The new cdi doesn't work either and the battery is so old it won't take a charge so new items are ordered.

I did the exhaust lying down...that thankfully doesn't hurt!

At least pretend you're resting up mate!

Great work, but please look after yourself!

In my ideal world I'd do what my doctor suggests and take 2 weeks off and rest...sadly that world is all fantasy and the reality is I have to care for my mum. Funny thing is when the cruciate went I did tell her I need 2 weeks off or there would be worse to come but she didn't believe me, as usual, and bingo here we are. Sod it, I'll live. The most strenuous thing I did was put Elsie on her centre stand and yes that hurt. It just annoys the fuck out of me when there is a ton of work to be done and I can only do some of it. Can't work on any of the other bikes or the cars and I've almost reached the point where there is nothing I can do.

Bollocks.

As your mum's carer, you're entitled to help with her care when you're injured. Talk to your doctor and/or social services, they should be able to sort you out with some help.

Anton I've heard it all...she does the guilt trip so well she should win an Oscar. The merest hint of some time away and I get it with both barrels.

On the LC front the lose wire is for the self cancelling indicators and German ones never had them...and I have found a company that makes new cdi's! Yay!

New battery has been charged so tomorrow she should start...uh huh.

Both zorsts cleaned up as best as I can and are on, I think she'll need jetting up as I do recall a massive flat spot at around 7000rpm on my old one with the same Allspeeds. As soon as she is running I'll get her registered and go for an MOT.

SHE LIVES! New cdi and battery and we have ignition...and started second kick. Leaking fuel bowl and a blown gasket, (did a very temporary fix) and she runs sweetly. Fix those little niggles and it's MOT time!
