Tuesday, car is going in to be welded, a patch in rear arches and turned into 'pick up' style.
Wish I could weld.
But I know the person(s) and they do a great job.
So by next weekend (as not a rush job) photos will be up of it.

finally got car back, pictures will be up soon ... Just needs a bit of a tidy up.
Drove to work the next day and the 5 gallons of fuel i put in decided to dump it's self along the roand and in the works car park. so back it goes for a new tank/ fuel lines.

Another question, had a look through the forum, unable to find details about putting number plate on the rear door and wiring in a light, and info on this anywhere?

Cheers
David

Do you want to move the number plate or add a second one? If you're moving it, cant you just use the wires that run to the current number plate lights?

will be moving it removing bumper and moving light clusters up to the body ... yes thought about re-routing the wires through the door then fitting a small light above.

Not 100% on vitara wiring, but i can imagine there will just be like 1 or 2 live feed wires and just ground the other side. I picked up a pair of led number plate lights for like £1.50 when i moved the plate on my SJ. Should be a pretty easy mod tbh

a few days after this, fuel tank decided to spill 5 gallons of petrol all over the car park at work ... I wasn't very popular that day !!!
So sourced a 'new' tank with pump etc. so that is now fitted.
Tonight's job fitting GV springs on the rear.
(The springs came off my Gv that I lifted 2" so a cheap lift and sprayed them red to brighten things up)
was going well then found a problem one of the shock relocation brackets. The hole for the bolt was 2 small. the other one was OK.
So need to get the drill bits out tomorrow.
Car is sitting on 3 wheels and an axle stand.
Got to dark to do tonight.

Next little thing is the front end. again GV springs to be fitted along with shock spacers. (waiting for delivery).
Also remove the rubber on the arches to give some extra clearance for the 235/75/15 tyres.
These cost £100 for 4 with rims. yes they have a few cracks but fitted inner tubes, and as they will be used mainly for off road should not be a problem.

Pics to follow in the next day or two.
