Right then , that's sorted the idle speed surging when I draw power , but now it wont idle at all , is there a way of setting the idle speed on tick over like the old carbs ???

Yes there is an idle adjustment screw, Darrell's prob got a pic but it's a long screw that pokes diagonally up you can see if looking down at the carb between the rocker cover and carb plenum.

Thank you Darrell and scottie , ive disconnected the idle plug and adjusted the idle screw , shes now running sweet as a nut , I shall give her a good blow tomorrow and see if shes ok , ive only just had it and its been standing for 12 mnths , 62 k genuine miles , I gather quite a find , just wanted something for shooting and stumbled across it , its completley original .

Quick stupid question, would it be worth putting a switch in so the idle up can be turned on and off? Would be like disconnecting when the lights are switched on and then reconnecting when lights are off.

Most people loose the system when they swap carbs anyway, but if running a standard carb it wouldn't be hard to put it on a switch. However is it really needed? Most people seem to have no issues without it.

Only asked when I remembered that when I got my last one it was switched, took months to work out what the switch was
