So where did u go to donkeychomp??

In Cornwall we found quite a few good places, Fistral is the obvious but gets too crowded, Gwithian, Polzeath and Harlyn Bay were pretty good. So was Towan Beach. I used to live in Orlando FLA so a dawn patrol was almost mandatory! Always wanted to surf Oz but it's too far, too expensive and I'm getting on a bit! Oh and I need a new board too, busted my Local Motion in half last time out, doh!

If you can weld then why not look down the virtual lift route. Keeps center of gravity low but you can still run large tyres. Then you can have a nice low slung suspension setup too.

Harlyn is great in winter when its blown out everywhere else plus is only a mile from my house. Dont go near newquay or polzeath anymore...too crowded!! Constantine and Boobies always best. Oz is fantastic especially the east coast. If you want nice easy surf in more senior years Indo has some great waves.

Im looking into any ideas Dan but ive got to keep costs down at mo. Might try more extravagent set up once im up and running. Im getting bit too excited about it all already so got to be careful i dont end up divorced!!!

Haha sorry didnt mean it like that!! Im 42 and more than happy with 2-3ft surf now....no more big stuff for me. Another reason for the sj's...getting bit scary on my blade now!

For a moment I thought you meant a Honda Fireblade lol. You are only a little younger than me btw, last time I went out I caught about 5ft and rode it all the way, even through a little tube too. Loved it and all this talk has made me realise how much I miss surfing. Going to look on ebay for a new board, I prefer short (ish) boards, maybe 6ft 6". Can you suggest a good time of year for some big waves?

I did...my old fireblade is awesome but i use it more of a cruiser now!! Id suggest getting a 7ft magic carpet. I had one made last yr and ive had more fun on that than other board. No point having a short board if u dont surf everyday..ul get frustrated. Its all about catching waves and having fun. If u want big surf winter always best. Winter is usually the best but last time out, many moons ago I went to a place near Cork, summer time, had the beach to ourselves and big waves too!
