Post by d86 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:58 pm

every year i buy a cheap as poss totally ratted moped to run
to work on in the nice wather.
over the years i have everything from a honda gold wing to a honda sh50 express(ex-pizza bike)

most expencive was a v-max,fastest was a brand new (in 86) rd350yps (crashed that badly).

last year was a piaggio-vespa typhoon thingy.and a piaggio nrg mc3,(see silver photos).

so as i was so inpressed with the last one ive got another one.

so this years project is a nrg extreme 2001.problem with it is its perfect.(ok it needs a seat cover)

looks like a suitable candidate for the smiles per mile award, so cheap and they are pretty simple to work on too,

the only other thing I have to add, watch out for 76 year old female drivers they have a tendancy to pull out on people at the last moment.

well i run it to work and back twice now.

and yes luke it is worthy of a smile per mile award.

i have already saved £5 on fuel and cut my 5 mile commute from 45mins on a bad day to 10 mins tonite.

wait for it though the insurance was an amaizing £62 full comp.
(thats only £30 cheaper than the sj).

anyway i thought thease would only do 30-40 mph this one does 50-60 on the flat.
only 30 up hill.

good shout mate!

I'm thinking about getting a 50cc scoot for the summer. Used to have a 50cc Derbi sm back when I was 14, miss being on two wheels in the nice weather.

They're perfect for here in Guernsey where we have a maximum speed limit of 35mph.

One of the other reasons I want to get one is so I can stop driving my sj for a bit, and give it some tlc!
