Hi all.
Got me some new bushes for all 4 corners. The bolt hole in the bushes is 12mm wide but the original bolts are 10mm thick measured at the thread poking out currently. I'mggoing to be making new shackles so wa swondering if it would be best to go withthe original size bolt, or switch to 12mm bolts? I guess bigger is better but maybe there is a reason for having them at 10mm?
Cheers

Re: shackle bolt sizes
They are actually 12mm. The original shackles bolts are stepped so they can be tightened up fully and not compress the bush.

Re: shackle bolt sizes
Your diagram looks just like mine so that's good news lol. I see about the stepped size there. I'm going to go with new bolts all round. Cheers for the reply mate.

Re: shackle bolt sizes
having bought a full set of bushes about a year ago I am actually going to fit them this weekend. Had a look at my SJ service manual and my SJ parts catalogue and once again Darrell is more helpful!!Darrell wrote:They are actually 12mm.
