Would like some help folks, regarding some basic recovery equipment that i need,
This is the requirments that i am looking for some advice on,rather than me try and translate what i am after.
Vehicle must have secure rear recovery point:
Either JATE rings or fixed shackles or a tow bar fitted with jaw & pin (tow ball only is not ideal but will suffice as an absolute minimum).
My truck is a VITARA lwb version,i dont have a towbar on the vehicle thus far but of course if a 2nd hand one came along at the right price then i would snap it up,a new one is not really feasable if i can get away using either a towbar or these JATE rings, what ever they are.
So what am i wanting this for, well i am very taken by the needs of joining a local '4x4 Response Group' this was mentioned by someone in the last few days on the forum, its a national charity based organisation that helps out the local community in say dire weather condition ie helping getting medical aid and doctors too patience who require urgent treament.
A 4x4 is usually the only vehicle that can help out in situations like this,so i am joining my local 'Response' group to offer my services to the community.
The requirments for basic equipment has been suggested and i can comply with say 90% of this equipment but as yet i dont comply with the above recovery points,so basically i am looking for advice on locating a towbar to comply with this request or advice on the cheaper option of 'JATE Rings' this i will hold my hand up i have a basic idea what they do but not on mounting these onto a Vitara.
So any help.suggestions would be most welcome.
Many thanks.

It'll be the same requirement as most pay&play sites ask for.
A secure, fixed shackle point on the vehicle, usually attached directly to the ladder chassis.
Something along these lines will do:
I'm not too familiar with the underside of the Vitara, so don't know exactly what sort of fixing points you will have.
On an SJ, unless you'd settle for a towbar, I know you'd need to weld on some brackets for shackles/jate rings, unless you have got winch bumpers or similar.

@binge,thanks for your reply,i would prefer too go down the towbar route but was originally thinking that Jate rings could be a cheaper easier option, but life is not as easy as that i guess.
The ring option could well prove more of a problem of not only costing more but more of a problem fitting them as well, but of course i could well be wrong.
Will keep a look out on Ebay for a 2nd hand towbar or if anyone is breaking one here on the forum, thats the route i will probably take.
