Samurai speedometer fault

Post by boatman » Mon Aug 11, 2014 2:00 pm

The speedo has stopped working on my Samurai because the output spigot on the transferbox which feeds the cable is not turning. I have looked at the driven gear and it seems ok. Driver gear worn? I cant see it well enough without gearbox strip down. But I cant think what else it could be. Has anyone else had this. Seems bad to have the easily replaceable gear tougher than the hard to get at gear.

Hello,

Have a look at the Build a Rocklobster guide here:
http://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/diy/16-tr ... ocklobster

There are pics on how to get the speedo drive out, not majorly difficult
