Hi,
In the past i have used copperslip on the leaves...no weight on spring forcing them open a bit with a screwdriver and then forcing grease into leaves.....in there a less demanding way to oil these
as its quite a long task.....do not think wd40 sprayed onto outside would last long......
any ideas anyone
Jim

it all depends how involved you want to get . . . on mine i take the springs apart completly and give them a good going over with i wire brush and then paint them up so they are smooth and put abit of greese inbetween each leaf while putting them back together

Don't waste your time, let the buggers rust
To be honest unless you put PTFE liners between the leafs it won't last 5 minutes.
Any oil just attracts dirt and dust and turns to grinding paste .

x2 on this! I wouldn't bother unless it was to add PTFE tape between the leaves.Darrell wrote:Don't waste your time, let the buggers rust
