West Yorkshire is a little far to drive unless you are willing to box up a gearbox & F/W for me to arrange a courier.

I can get it on a pallet and get a quote from a local courier if interested.

If you are PM me your details and I can make some enquiries tomorrow.

Not sure I can PM yet? There is no option.

Edit: It seems I can now... I assume 20 posts is the threshold then for PMs. :)

PM'd ya.

I picked up my Roll bar today. Lovely bit of kit.
Can anyone tell me what the 2/3 brackets could be for on the back?

From the location might be for a rear mounted radiator or spare wheel carrier? (somehow)

Was thinking that. Standard rad does not offer up to it at all, and cant work out how a spare would go onto it.

Managed to pull the rear door from the Tin Top today in the compound, so will be doing a proper pick up conversion on the SJ.
Got a FG roof to go on too :D

Think I will cut a perspex rear window for it.

Spare will be mounted to the back of the cab, will make up a spaced wheel carrier so it clears the cage.
Will think about rear mounting a rad, not entirely sure on the best way to do it? Would I want an inline leccy pump? Or would a brand new W/P be enough to circulate water efficiently?

I'm also interested on how people make these cabs using rear doors. Do they fall into place fairly easy, or is it an utter sod to fit in there?

Also pulled this out of the back of the other SJ we have. Any ideas what the hell it is?

P.S, SJ wheel bolts straight up to it. Appears to be a rear disc conversion of some sort. not sure if it's been knocked up though.

What donkychomp did.

It's a Vitara build, but that's how I'd do it if I were doing a pickup conversion.

That's exactly what it is.

It's probably been "knocked up" - but that's not to say it's bad. Which is also not to say it's any good either.

Many of us have done rear disks, including me. My build thread has information on what I did (I used Rover rear callipers)
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

I've had a good look over the rear axle, and it's using SJ front calipers. So I've whipped the front calipers off the SJ in the yard, and brought it all home with me.
Had a good look over it. It looks to have been done to the best standard it could have been done to.
It looks like the person who has made it, has just used front hangers, chopped a section out of them, and slid them onto the axle, then bolted them up to the back of the end plate.

A pair of 'disc inserts' have also been made. I assume they've been turned down from the old drums. But they're round, and true, and look to have been done well.
So on the whole, quite happy with it.

Chucked my cage in the bed just to see how it offers up. It's perfect! Love it.

My FG hard top also fits well too. I dont think it'll ever be a quick removable unit, so I will be bonding it straight on, and sealing it up making the truck a permanent hard top pick up.

Thanks for the link on the pick up build. I will take a look and absorb some ideas from it.
