Has it got a turbo?
I had a car like that once, turbo had gone.
I got a part ex one, changed it and flushed all the lube system and cooling system and job sorted.

Re: Got a C Max?
Standard diesel pile of junk. My friends next door neighbour bought it at an auction...without even lifting the bonnet up. Cost him £700, which is probably £699 too much. All the glow plugs have been changed, a mere 8 hours work, loads of electrical gubbins changed. FORD...Fix Or Repair Daily.
