Looking for a rear diff bearings kit supplier if anyone knows of one. I only seem to be able to find one in the States on ebay.

All the bearing numbers are there, so just ring your local bearing stockist. It should work out cheaper

First update:
The head from Scottie has cleaned up well and having been dismantled, checked over and tweaked is ready for re-assembly and fitting.
Turns out the rear diff is fine. The problem lays with the transfer box. The noise and vibration was travelling up the prop shaft so it sounded like the diff bearings were shot. So, we're leaving the diff alone and going to look at the transfer box instead. Had ordered new diff bearings from Wytch Bearings (great company to deal with-they're on the web) but now cancelled without any issues from them.
Head bolt sheared whilst removing the head and is proving a real sod to extract the stump as it's so brittle, it just breaks up as we try to extract it New set of bolts ordered (don't want another going during the re install). In the meantime the head is sitting on the bench whilst we check out the break pipes, rear shoes etc. Looks like the brake pipes and slave cylinders been tinkered with by a previous owner so giving everything a thorough check.
Hope to have the head on tomorrow, fit the donor carb and see if she'll fire up. The wax thermostat is shot on the old carb so she was running with the choke shut all the time-rough! Fingers crossed. A couple of pics attached.

No Worries man that sucks! never known of a head bolt shearing during removal on one of these engines? Hope it all gets sorted.
I presume you have checked all the prop shaft UJs including the one between the gearbox and Tbox? it's best to remove these to check them, If the UJ has seized you will not be able to tell with it fitted. Tboxes are easy enough to pick up second hand or rebuild

Not checked the prop shafts or UJ's yet (but thanks for the heads up). The transfer box is completely shot. The boot on the shift lever was split, it had lost all its oil and filled up with water and crud instead. The shafts are badly worn and the gear teeth well rounded. No wonder it was making such a racket. Looking for a replacement now. On closer inspection the donor carb is a different type. Thinking of biting the bullet and buying a webber 32/36 DGV. Anything I should know? There's one available from Performance Parts Auto. I'm hoping that it would future proof me against possible problems with a replacement Asian carb (if I could find one) that could go wrong with a similar choke problem at any time.
P.S. Broken head bolt still not completely removed, new extractor ordered!
There is a fair bit of rust and some pretty awful previous attempts to repair it. Sills wheel arches etc. If it were lifted off and dipped or sand blasted there might not be much left! Got a good welder standing by to sort it if I ever get it going again! More photos soon.

Let me have a look in the workshop, might have a spare transfer box lying around, Have a feeling I might, if the gears in your are ok I could always p/x for those.
webers are good carbs as long as you don't do any extreme off roading as they can flood and stall on really steep climbs.
