spare wires

Post by timwilks13 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 7:43 pm

So I have all the wiring done on the front and checking I have the correct wires left for the alternator, the wiring diagram says I should have a white/red, white/yellow and white/black wire, but I have 2 black and whites, a black and green, and a white and red wire. I cant make head nor tail of where they came from and where they should go? I'm assuming 3 of them are for the alternator, but not sure what the left over wire is....

If you have gone SU you possibly have the fuel stop solenoid left over.

I have wires left over, just taped them off. When I swap the body over I may remove them from the loom.

W/Y main alt output
W/R dash warning light from alt
B/W ign switch to alt
B/W ign switch to carb solenoid (I expect Dan is correct)
B/G on the 410 goes from the starter to coil.

Well that's what I recon

That sounds about right cheers man, my only concern then is that I have no white/yellow for main alt out. Just the w/r dash light.

Could be different on the 410 loom?

The white an yellow wire is quite thick and should have a connector on it, have you left the other half with the ring connector on it attached to your old alternator? It will be there!

Excellent cheer bud, it was on the old alternator, and I couldn't find where it plugs in the loom as it was hiding under the fuel pump!
