HELP!

Post by clitheroe-kid » Tue Dec 10, 2013 10:25 pm

Ok, need some advise asap!

My car judders like mad and sometimes stalls on full lock. I've just had a look under with the torch and it appears that the tyres are fouling my leaf springs! NOT GOOD!!

So... what do I do..

Would some decent wheel spacers cure my problem?

Thanks, Paul

Wow. Are the tyres on it that big? If they are rubbing then yes wheel spacers will bring them away from the springs, but I've never heard of this happening before.

Or just bung some washers under this bolt (either side) until it just stops short of hitting the spring.

Is that what controls the amount of lock goes on? I seem to have the turning circle of a small plane.

Without spacers I'm afraid big wheels will make your turning circle large.
Apparently that is the steering stop (seems a bit crude, but it works)

Nice spacers but a tad expensive. Grayston ones go for about £60 and I had them on my SJ for years with no problems. I know lots of the guys here use them too.

Spacers solved the problem for me! My tyres did this when I fitted them
