do not buy these leaf springs from jap4x4

Post by dazerede » Wed Nov 27, 2013 4:25 pm

Me and a couple of other members on the forum have had a lot of hassle with these leaf springs firstly they don't last long at all I have done about 800 miles on these springs and a bit of offroad use but nothing major

They are starting to bend the wrong way at the ends I belive that the secound leaf isn't long enough and should end right underneath the hangers

I second that!

also had the bad experiance of japanese4x4spares rear springs, ive got their front springs on my zuk and they are fine, lots of curve in them, but the rears are shite...

i wander if llama 4x4 do standard height springs...

not cheap but good quality...

I'm not sure about those ones in the first picture, but the springs that japanese4x4spares sell are made by a company called Lesjofors.

Both of my rear springs I got from jap4x4spares look like your pictures Daz

Yep, they are not good. ( polite way of saying utter sh***)
bought mine this year and after less than 80 gentle miles they are buggered.
I'm no expert but is obvious the prob is they are not matched and badly made, each leaf is not working as it should with its neighbour and mine have done the same as yours, see pics.
Did you ever get a reply after you emailed them, i guess they just said they are speaking with suppliers and hope you go away. If these really are made by the supposedly good norwegian bunch i think someone is lying as they are not the same quality.
Keep us posted as to which ones you replace them with for standard height.

Jap4x4 spares has lost a customer here. i think it is important to warn others and complain as selling shoddy shit is the same as robbery in my view. I'm going to email thhem this week and see what they say.

Looks like Dave at Llama 4x4 is gonna be busy sorting you lot out.

I've had LOTS of gear off him. No issues with any of it.

Ideal chears for posting on here steveR and edweird

I have emailed him and all he is saying he can not give a refund what a bast*rd

I think I.might go for some llama springs but.not sure for a min as I might be able to get some secound hand springs so I can save my money for a all round llama 1.5 inch lift kit with new shocks and u bolts

Does he not give a warranty? Company my dad works for gives a 6 month warranty on their parrabolic springs when used purely on road. If you can prove the goods weren't fit for sale/faulty when purchased you can always take them to a small claims court I guess but I guess for the amount it's not worth the hassle..
