Hi all I've got a problem with me alternator? I've put the main white thick one on the bottom and I've read somewhere on here I put the reds n white one Im the middle which ive done! But only changing at 12v! I've also got a black n white one which if I put it on the middle one it work's charging at 13.5v but then I cant turn the engine off! Can anyone help plz thanks Dave

When you had the red/white wire connected to the middle pin and it was not running did the warning light come on.
IE: if the warning light bulb blows this can cause some alternators not to charge, as it gets 12v via the bulb.

I believe the warning light terminal should be negative when not running/charging and positive when running/charging. As the warning light is fed 12v positive , this would be correct.

As you found out if you connect the black/white wire here it won't turn off as when running it's giving 12v out and this black/white wire is also connected to the coil.
