Ok guys this is a picture of the start of the bog as u can see no one has been threw there for a while as there is no wheel marks even with my maxxis I got stuck there so I had to reverse it out and use my right foot a bit harder LOL

As u can.see in the pic it is about 2 foot deep on the left as we done a stick test

Tom's right - his defender would have eaten through that, to the extent that you would need mining equipment to get it back out...

A nice wide set of 33s would float straight over that. :D

see that's always got me thinking. thin tyres to cut through the mud or wide ones to float it?

I know its its particularly loose deep stuff a bigger "footprint" is better but do the same principles work with thick mid?

Yeah. Different tyres for different situations.

A few times I have got further than Scottie because my narrower tyres bite through even though they are a smaller diameter.

Back to the winch...I'd say get a 6000 for the front but have the little one on the rear just in case..
If it ticks over...leave it
