Thinking of selling my hard top?
Thinking of selling my hard top?
hi guys,
Just bought a new roof for my Suzuki, its a fastback one and its going to look really cool!
only thing is im not sure what to do with the hard top which is on it now. its in good condition and i like it as i understand these are becoming quite rare, also its original to the car as it has the number plate stamped in the glass which is really cool! but i dont think i will use it when i have the soft top on, and it will take up a lot of space which i dont have.
So what do you guys think i should do? would it be to much of a shame to separate it from the car? considering the car isnt that original anymore with its new paint job and a bigger engine.
thanks for helping me with all my school girl problems, lol. but i do value your advice.
Cheers guys:)

If you're not planning on using it. Wack it up on the bay
When winters here and you should get some good money for
It.
Ive got a hardtop for my kja and most of the time its just in the way.

I'd put the soft top somewhere safe until the spring comes. Its a pain waiting for it to defrost because you can't scrape it without scratching the windows. It'll probably be warmer with the hard top on as well.

Keep it. They are rare now and with a fastback roof only you'll be amazed at how much space you lose. Plus the etched glass number plate thing is a bit of a bonus.
If it ticks over...leave it

100% keep it!!!
Also, speaking from experience, DO NOT try to roll up the fastback back window when it's cold!
You will end up with a big long split all the way across it!
I had mine for 4 years before it split, so now its got to go back to monsoon for repairs!!

Re: Thinking of selling my hard top?
yes, i do see your point's.
but... i wont be using the car through the winter see. and to be honest dont intend in putting it back on the car while i own it.
the only thing making it hard for me to decide is that i feel really bad separating a rare original part from its car :( , should i feel bad? and how much more desirable will it make the car when i eventually come to sell it?
Cheers for the thoughts guys.

Keep!
Find somewhere to store it, if its all original i wouldn't seperate them. As mentioned i think it will be it worth more if you ever sell it.
