main beam light comes on ?

Post by dazerede » Thu Sep 05, 2013 5:06 pm

I was in my zook yesterday and it was dark so I tried to turn the interior light on but it doesn't work there is power there it is just the switch playing up while trying to get it working the main beam light comes on :er: so I put my dipped light on and flicked the switch and the main beam light comes on but the main beam doesnt come on.it stays at dipped so I then pushed the main beam leather forward and the main beam comes on bit the light goes out .must be dodgie electrics .

Pluss I was driving last night about 9.00 it was foggy so I put my roof lights on with my main beam and with the radio going and my clock in my dash stopped working so I then turned the roof lights of and whent.back.too dipped and the clock worked again I think this must be the alternator

Does your horn work?

Check your fuses especially the horn one.

Sounds like you've got some strange electrical gremlins.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

More than likely just a blown fuse

Surely there's some weird wiring going on for the courtesy light to interfere with the high beam light?

Fog and main beam really doesn't help at all...glad you sorted the problem.
If it ticks over...leave it
