Where does everyone get there sheet steel from, as found some tin worm wholes that need plugging up.

And as usual don't have any when i need some.

Being a "Northerner" I'm not really being asked this, I've just butted in. :hahaha:

If it's just bits and pieces you want, look up a local fabrication shop, they generally give you off cuts from the scrap bin, or just charge you a token amount.

They will probably cut you specific things too if you wanted, and at a good rate.

Always worth asking.

Yellow pages,look for engineering places and metal fab's there never short of anything, a small amount of beer tokens will see you fine! Especially on a Friday people are more inclined to have a bit of cash n there pocket ive found

We got 2x sheets of 3foot by 4 foot steel chequer plate the other week for £10!!

local fabrication companys do it for me. and i advertise for them so i get discounted prices win win :)

I get mine from a place called Devizes Steel Supplies as they're about 10min away from me but unfortunately quite a way from you.

Pretty much any steel yard / fabricator / engineering shop should be able to supply you what you need I would think?

I used to work in a sheet metal fab shop so I just go see my old boss :smokin:

might even try and get my job back next time :er:

If i'm wanting decent steel i buy from a local steel stockholder. For smaller odd n sods i ask about for scraps at local engineers / machine shops.

If you catch them on a good day it can be for nothing.

Go onto metal supermarket and you can have it delivered.

I bought a sheet of eBay the other day !! It's really cheap on there 350 mm x 350mm x 6mm £16 delivered !!

Hmmmm..... I call that an off cut / scrap, it's only 13.5" square. I got same size (roughly) hardox wear plate FOC from a engineers i collect from.

Well i'm really after a 8"x4" sheet of 1mm/1.2mm, as i am going to need a fair bit for the unimog that i've got to sort out too.
But just wanted to see if there was anywhere that some of you guys go/recommend.
