vitara 4u2 electricals
i have a few questions i hope someone may be able to help.
i have just put the new fog light onto the rear tailgate as the old plastic bumpers have been removed and i have just positioned the wires from under the rear bumper to inside of the tail gate, now the light does not work, it did work before i removed the bumper and i am stumped.
are the switches a problem?
the other thing i have noticed is that when ever i use full beam or use the flash the central locking clicks, is this normal?
i am assuming this model should not have central locking and a previous owner fitted it as the wiring does not look factory done to me.
also is there a clear wiring diagram for this model all the ones i have seen are too hard to read.
thanks in anticipation.

Re: vitara 4u2 electricals
Looks like the fog light is wired the same as the SJ.
Red is live supply
Blue is switched live supply
Green is switched earth (only connected when the headlights are on)
Yes I believe the 4u2 didn't have central locking so without knowing how that's wired in I can't help, sorry.

Re: vitara 4u2 electricals
still no joy with the fog light
does anyone know what colour wires that have going to their fog light, mine are green/black and green/blue.
i also seem to have 2 fog light switches?, i assume one was for the front fog lights? it has a large off button on it.
i have disconnected the central locking now the solenoid does not click every time i switch on/off the lights!

Re: vitara 4u2 electricals
Does it work with the headights on? I can't remember how mine works exactly but its a latching switch so it turns itself off when the ignition is off.

Re: vitara 4u2 electricals
i have tried it with engine running and off, the odd thing is when i bought the anus the rhs fog light was hanging down under the bumper as it had had a rear ender but it still worked just dangling there, now all i have done is to relocate the wires into the rear tailgate and have a new light so it should have been a case of just connecting the spade terminals and it should have worked, the light and bulb work ok i have tried it.
it is baffling to say the least.
