fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
is it possible to fit +2" socks on standard height suspension? I have found some nice shocks on eBay that's are going very cheap for the make that they are, but they are +2" so would they be able to be fitted on my zuk on standard height springs?

You could "fit" them.
Unless they have more travel they will bottom out almost immediately though

They would bottom out as the "tube/casing" of the shock would be to big.

Re: fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
If you fit longer shocks you need to lower the bumpstops so that you don't bottom out the shocks during articulation. If you bottom out the shocks not only can it damage the shocks but also bend and eventually snap the shock mounts
Re: fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
id like to do a lift at some point but its not exactly cheap, especially with £288 a month insurance lol

I don't think i even paid that on my Volvo. I can't belive how much insurance has gone up in the past 11 years.Jay18 wrote:id like to do a lift at some point but its not exactly cheap, especially with £288 a month insurance lol
All depends what kind of lift you do. Things like rascal rears RUF can be done pretty cheap. I picked a set of YJs up for £180 off 4x4rick (haven't paid or got them yet).
Plus if you shop about and have a read of some other threads you can get a set of shocks for less that £100 that will do as extended shocks like astra shocks.

Re: fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
To be honest £125 isn't that great a price for second hand shocks anyway? I would rather save up and fork out the extra £57 for a brand new set of rough country shocks.
Re: fitting +2" shocks on standard height suspension..
