play in steering, what are the obvious causes?..

Post by Jay18 » Thu Aug 08, 2013 12:54 am

so I fitted a new steering damper today and it has stopped the steering wobble WOOHOO!! just need to get rid of the play in the steering now, it seems to wander but the damper has helped to cut down on the amount it wanders, but there is still play somewhere...

so where are the most obvious places? I think the steering box may be on its way out.. but where else could be causing it?

As above. Its the steering box. They are never exactly great to start with.

It will be worn in the centre. Make sure you dont tighten it so much that its overtight when going from lock to lock.
