Well happy with MPG
Well happy with MPG
Just got back from a short camping trip to Wareham and Studland in Dorset. Travelling from Solihull its quickest to hit the motorway network so we did that on the way down but didn't touch motorways on the way home using only A and B roads and random country lanes when the SatNav had a freak out and with some local driving down south we covered just under 400 miles - so not the longest ever road trip then
The last few SJs I have owned have had various 'other' carbs fitted while my current 88 SJ is factory. Every Suzuki I have owned has been fairly standard with only a wheel / tyre change (usually to alloys and BFGs) and a lift on a couple. The current set up is standard with 235/75x15 BFG Muds on 7" x 15" Daihatsu pepperpot alloys. NO FWHs!
Using the good old fashioned scientific way of calculating fuel consumption...like ram the tank and do a bit of multiplication and division...the average was 31.5mpg. I am very happy with that. Maybe that factory carb can stay after all
Take it easy

Re: Well happy with MPG
If they're working as designed virtually all carbs are alright, it's just the one's Suzuki fitted to SJs seem prone to croaking.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
