SAMURAI ALTENATOR

im not sure what i did but went to adjust the fan belt on my 1995 sammy sport put the spanner on the adusting bolt and heard a crackkle and a lot of smoke when i looked it had cooked the fusible link up at the battery? why did this happen? :roll:

sounds like you shorted,, from the bolt to the live feed on the altanator... if you look theres a heavy wire going to the altanator,, thats the currant feed back to the battery, some vehicals it goes via the starter..
