I am genuinely excited for this weekend.

Still waiting on Andy to see if he has the LWB up and running for it though.

Underground quarries? Do you lot have a different defination of quarry?

A quarry is an open pit used to extract stone and supplies generally for building material. Open being the defining word. Those photos were underground.

Apart from the one exception to that rule... Bath stone.

They are frequently called mines though.

I wasn't making the point that all building stones / materials are quarried. But that quarries are bit open pits!

Bath stoned was mined!

"Bath Stone is an Oolitic Limestone comprising granular fragments of calcium carbonate. Originally obtained from the Combe Down and Bathampton Down Mines under Combe Down, Somerset, England"
