gonna be needing an engine hoist soon. I can borrow one if need be but id like to buy one. whats everyone's experiences with em in regards to different styles and brands etc?

I've got a Clarke strong arm, can't complain, does exactly what it's meant to! Used it for all sorts of things. You could borrow it but you'd need to bring it back :lol:

Just take the front clip off and lift it in. That's what I do anyway :D

The f10s are heavy little bastards, weigh more than the g13 because they have an iron block.

Well they feel heavier anyway

I have back problems and I really struggled to lift the F10A on and off of my old 410 chassis, I seem to be able to move the G16B engine about much easier and that still has all the accessories on.
I do have a hoist now but if you're not going to use it much then I wouldn't bother buying one if you can borrow, its a fair size, heavy and is always in the way.

I don't have a flat surface to use mine on so its a case of man handle it into place and then lift the engine, push the car out of the way then drop the engine into the wheelbarrow to move it. My crane is a 2 ton Draper unit, I think its actually heavier than the G13.

I used 2 tonne clarke engine crane from my dads mate, and id rather use a crane as its so much easier then use a bar and a few mates :lol:

I just hire one from the local hire place, ive used it so many times on the SJ they know me by name :hahaha:
