As long as the SJ weighs more than 800kg, yes.
I'm sure SJ kerb weight is high 900kgs.

well my zuk will weigh more than standard now anyway with my bigger alloys, steel arches, pajero seats, bullbar and still got more to do including my subwoofers i want to put in, should be getting close to 1000kg by now, so basically as long as my SJ weighs more than the caravan i should be okay?

As long as the SJ is heavier it should be fine.
You need to remember that the caravan weights stated most likely WILL NOT include additional items to be carried. Gas bottles, clothes, bedding and all the other crap caravaners carry about.
If you do go down this route i would suggest having your SJ weighed on a calibrated bridge to confirm it's unladen weight. It's only usually £5-£10 and then gives you a guide to the maximum weight that can be towed.

800kg is the fully laden weight of a meteorite s, i would put all my stuff in the back of the sj as its a van
also wouldnt i need to go by standard weights? to keep it legal, as whatever the weight of my sj isnt the official weight of an sj...

Re: Towing a caravan with an SJ410?
This is my opinion but i say no.
If you have your SJ weighed empty that is its kerb weight regardless of What the manual says. I can't imagaine it'll be much heavier than standard anyway. The figures quoted online for kerb weights vary quite a lot. The caravan only has to be lighter than the SJ because of your driving licence not because the SJ can't pull.
It may also say on paper that the max is 800kg for the caravan but it all depends how much crap you put in it.
Weights on manuals and guide books are all good and well but there is no arguing with a calibrated weigh bridge.
I've googled loads of websites and everyone says 1100kg for a braked trailer.

My father tows are caravan with his p38 and that weighs best part of 2tonne once we put all are shit in it! Also its the biggest you can get on a single axle overall length is about 34-35ft in that picture it dont look big but it is for a caravan and other caravan people get slightly pissed off when dad over takes them with it on the back the power of a v8

Re: Towing a caravan with an SJ410?
I once towed a bike trailer with a single bike on the back of my samurai, it was a PITA I couldnt believe how much performance it sapped from my already megre supply. but saying that I also towed a small camping trailer which was fine - I hardly knew it was there. I suppose it all depends what your towing, I personally wouldn't want to tow anything big over any distance.
Re: Towing a caravan with an SJ410?
yep thats what i mean, if i was to take say water barrel, gas bottle, bedding, clothes etc itll all go in the back of the sj instead of putting it all in the caravan, should keep me nice and legal and safe right?
will take it up weigh brind in a few months when its insured taxed and engine rebuilt..

Jay get a tent mate so much easier! and its proper camping!
Also with a caravan you have to put insurance ontop of it etc
