ive just tried to start the old wagon and its not having any of it not evening cranking!, ive cleaned all the terminals etc checked the wires and they seam fine checked the resistance and thats fine etc 12v is getting to the starter and 12v is getting to the s post whilst its in the cranking posision but the only thing is doing is like a faint "wurring" sound and im pretty sure its not a solinod problem! And ive tried tapping it like sometimes I do and it still

How long has it been sat?
May have seized up inside.

Wind down the window, open the door, lean through it and while you turn the key give it a bloody great whack. Maybe several whacks. Worked on mine.

about four to five weeks! but normally it fires on the button!

I guess it's two choices...if you can do it strip it down and clean it...or buy a new one. Neither option appeals...
If it ticks over...leave it

I'd go with it just needs a strip down and good clean.
If it played up before, it sounds like it's just gone that bit further after standing, and now needs a good clean inside.

Looks like you're gonna have to do some propper work to solve this one bud.
