I really want a cliffords trade card.... whenever I go in there I always end up with more than I bargained for!
They had multiple sets of SJ brake shoes and pads on the shelf today which was quite handy!

There's a reason for that I found from working there. The computer and/or catalogue tells the user when part fits what car but not every car is listed and not all of those that are listed are thoroughly listed, nor are all available parts stocked.

The other daft thing is the packaging of the stuff they stock doesn't say what it fits either.

The system they've got is good for common cars like a Fiesta or a Golf but the more obscure the car the worse the system is in all aspects.

Granted also not everyone that works in Halfords is a car buff either but the blame isn't solely theirs.

Haha Ed,

They should get a better catalogue then :P
Although saying that the Suzuki Electronic Parts Catalogue can't be brilliant!
I went into my local Suzuki recently to order and handbrake cable... the garage have been a Suzuki place for ages, but the garage keeps getting sold and new people brought in.
When I went there the bloke behind the desk was complaining about the EPC while finding my parts, so I ended up chatting with him about how rubbish it is.
It ended up with "So, how do you have the parts catalogue? Do you work for Suzuki too?"
Hahaha ;)

The thing is, it's not a Suzuki parts catalogue, it's a Halfords own one that I suspect was put together from Wikipedia and a dozen EPCs by someone who doesn't know anything about cars.

The little flip catalogues they have on the shelves are better than the Halfords EPC.
