Ollie, I would usually help you out here but I think its a stupid idea to buy another one.
A better idea would be to get the other one you have running... Then sell that to pay for your wing. It doesn't need that much to get it going... mine has been in a much worse state than that! You don't need free wheeling hubs in any way. I only have mine on from when I worked at the Nhs and had to do a lot of driving for work.
Just get your wing and get the seats somewhere else. There's no point in rushing it when you don't even have a license yet. You might as well take your time, then you will get to grips with working on them now, cos when you do get a license you will need that knowledge. Get the other one running and sell it!

Nah it aint gonna fit in the back of the SJ mate. A new thread might be a good idea though before Ollies build is well and truly hi-jacked.

Or do a deal with the guy to PX the seats for his?

Ollie, if you've got that many cars, sell them. Concentrate on one car at a time, Ollie. You're getting overenthusiastic - something we all do at times, but you have to be realistic. ONE project at a time, mate.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that every person on these forums has looked at an SJ and, just for a moment, seriously considered buying it even though he/she knew they shouldn't. Then we have an attack of the sensibles (usually) and we don't do it.

Ebay is full of half-finished projects for a reason.

I could buy a much better SJ than the one I have. It's a bucket. It actually has moss growing out of it in places, and it really should have been scrapped long ago. The main reason I don't buy another one is because this one, when it's finally on the road, will be a rolling "I did that!" moment.

I'll never get to the point where I can go "I did that!" if I keep buying cars - I'll never have enough time if I divide my time between half a dozen projects.

Focus on one car. Rob bits off of one of your other cars if you *have* to, but focus on one car. Get it going. Have some fun in it. And don't be disheartened at what the guys are saying to you - they're trying to steer you right, even if you seem to need a bit of a verbal slap to get you to focus a bit.

If they didn't care what you did, they'd just sit back, watch you get into a mess, and point and laugh. Instead, they're trying to steer you right. No-one's trying to have a go at you, they're trying to make you see what's best, that's all.
