Will RUF & rascals give enough clearance for 31s?

Post by Jordi » Mon May 13, 2013 9:52 pm

I'm looking at sticking my 31s onto my SJ once i put 33s on the Sammi.

At the moment the SJ is on probably its original springs and 215s. If i do the RUF rascal swap and move the front axle forward 25mm will the 31s fit?

Would the bulkhead seam require "adjusting" or am i being a bit too optimistic?

I await your input!

Ruf done properly will move your front axle 1.5" forward so should give you bulkhead clearance for 31s but you will need to modify and or remove the front bumper and its mounts.

Im in the middle of doing this today, finally got the rears mounted on the front and built some supporting brackets. The flex is insain!!! You will need a front prop spacer and with the extra height and axle moving foward 31's are not anywhere near the bulkhead, ive got 31's on mine also. Will put a couple picts up of it tomorow if u want to see

Oh its this one

I forgot about that one, you can easily make some bolt on chassis extensions for the front shackle mounts as its a 413 :doublethumbs:

Photos would be spot on Richie.

Yup, that one Scott. It's been sat a while but will hopefully be getting some TLC with sammi hand me down bits. I've stock piled a few bits and pieces for it already and when i decide what i'm doing with everything i'm sure there will be parts swapping between all 3.

Just looked at the DIY ruf write up, it was a bit vague shall we say.
