Cracked Add a leaf springs.... What now!

Post by powell1832 » Sun Aug 23, 2009 6:12 pm

Today i went to fit my new add a leaf it, only to find that all 4 of them are cracked.... one i can understand but all 4 is silly, i am reluctant to replace them as i am now very concirned about the life span of them.

So has anyone got any idea's.... I cant weld, so a home made lift kit is out of the question, I dont want to spend more than £100 on a lift but need the extra clearance,

Everyone says shackles are rubbish.

So come on, give us some ideas??

can I use any leafs from any car as a lift?

thay are designed to take stress in sertain directions, being imported from america on pallets if the pallet got dropped at the wrong angle it could damage the springs. am am sure David would replace them, if he does and your still unsure about fitting them i know sumone who would take 2 of them from you
