Not much of an update just not asleep yet.

1600 manifold and t/boxs with rockwatt
Collected two doors, bonnet, set of calipers and a few other bits from Mike on Saterday.
Scottie is sorting me another caliper mount out. Got transfer brake off Andy too.
I have 2 SUs sat on the bench.

When i get the gear back off RW i'll be set to bash on with the 1600 conversion. Gonna sort everything with Scottie on saterday so i should have everything for rear disc conversion by next weekend.

And my hoodie!!!

Yeah mate.

The route we did this weekend was nuts. So many lanes round here. Have to make a long weekend of it.

Well, just as i collected a shed load of spares my limited adition SCUK caliper mount arrived from Scottie. So now i have 6 caliper mounts.

The ever growing pile of bits has now splilled out of the garage into the yard. So everyone needs to go look at my for sale items and start buying.

Apart from the bits at rockwatts i do now have everything i need to start modding again. This weekend has been mental busy though. Finished friday. Spent all saterday going to Grantham. Got home and sorted out all the spares. Took 2 hours to unload and sort it. Then back at work and enroute to Southampton today.

Fingers crossed i'm off this weekend. I'll get the 1600 built up bar a clutch and inlet manifold. Agreed a sale on some of my items just gotta strip an axles down and package some stuff up.

A trip to the scrap man might be on too. I have a small pile to rubbish. Anything i get for it is better than nothing.

Saw Darrell linked to this earlier. Before anyone asks.

The 1600 is still on the floor. Surrounded by 3 1300s.

All the parts i got off Mike are in the back of the pickup. The brake caliper kit is still in it's envelope with the master cylinder seals.

The garage floor is covered in diffs, brake calipers and shafts.

You're obviously doing a proper full overhaul like I am. Yeah, painting them means having to wait for paint to dry, which means the whole process takes *FOREVER* - but it's worth the extra time to know your brakes are perfection, and the job's gonna *last*.

If you're doing a proper job, do a proper job!

Thats one reason i haven't done a thing. Its my daily drive and i cant sit it about waiting for paint to dry. Just gotta tax the KJA then i can sit the sammi in bits for a bit.

It swings and roundabouts - because I've got a DD (Yaris) the SJ has sat unloved for over a year. There's something to be said for a mad dash to get your car working again... AT LEAST IT GETS DONE!

Personally I wouldn't bother painting calipers, everytime you bleed the brakes your going to get brake fluid on them
