i want to spray my sj its orginal colour but want it to be cheap and effective not really wanting to spend more that 200 on it

Mine only cost me about 150
1,litre tin was about 12.00

well to get it matched to the exacted colour wont come cheap.

To spray it yourself celluose paint and thinners is the cheapest but quite hard to get now as it's a bit toxic. Paint, primer and thinners should be less than £50. You need a gallon of thinners, litre of self build primer and 1.5lts of self laquer colour. Shop around and you'll get a compressor and spray gun for under £150. Compressor will run out of air every 2mins like.

Alternatively you need to do all prep work yourself, weld panels up, fill any bits you want filing and rub the whole car down with fine rubbing paper (wet and dry). Mask of or remove all trim not to be painted. If your lucky a bodyshop will blow it over for about £250. For that kinda price it wont last long. Don't expect a showroom finish.

Spraying cars isn't cheap. My compressor was £300, another £100 for a spray gun. I probably spent £100 on paint and consumables (tape, thinners, fillers, rubbing paper)

If it's off road only just roller it.

Mine will never see anything but a brush!

Didn't even need any masking tape (or attention to detail :D ) as every part was totally stripped.

Those window seals are a bugger to get back in tho and dont even mention the windscreen!!!

Takes two people mone has to sit in a seat and place feet on the window applying gentle pressure along the top of the windscreen.

The other has to work a screwdriver along the outer seam gently prising it out.

Took my about 5 mins a window.
