Not much of an update. Whipped the manifold off my spare 1300 to go to rockwatt in a couple of weeks.

Re: Jordi's 1986 SJ413 KJA Pickup
That does look pretty clean and standard which is nice
I dont think those seats you removed were the originals as the proper seats dont have head rests, the head rests bolt to the rear bulkhead and go over the window,
new seats look good though, not a lot else that will fit, it is all very tight in there isnt it?
as for rare, i think they are pretty rare, however i think the LWB Hardtops (well removable but you know what i mean) are now rarer that the pickup, after all there are 3 KJA build threads on here at the moment.
keep up the good work.

Same as the seats I had in my kja. They had built in headrests to. As did the other kja I had. Maybe it was an option?
Got some nice recaro s to go in for the rebuild

Re: Jordi's 1986 SJ413 KJA Pickup
Well there was nothing on at work today, so i came home. Stopped by a mate to waste some of the day, acquired two sheets of 2mm steel 8'x4'.
Finally got motivated to do some work and looked for the simplest, easiest job. Change the wheels. It went well, no swearing and no injuries. They give the pick up a meaner stance and sit nice and wide on those rims, no spacers required. Slight issue is clearance, I may have been a little optimistic. Front seems ok with minor bumper trimming. Looks ok against the bulkhead, chassis and wheel arch.
Rears are very close to the arches though, luckily its only the bit shaped at the very edges, when i start the real work I'll replace them and we'll be ok.

Re: Jordi's 1986 SJ413 KJA Pickup
I thought it was the best task to do, considering i couldn't be bothered but needed something to fill an hour.
I didn't want to start anything on the other one in case i gave up, left it in pieces, then had to go to work. I'm off tomorrow now too so i'm gonna try and get the front calipers swapped / rebuilt on the Samurai.
The spring are shagged on the pick up too, all wibbly wobbly. So i'll be pricing them up soon. I just want standard springs so i dont know whether to get em' off Llama or shop about. Not sure if KJA springs are any different to normal SJ springs????

I think you should probably consider a small lift spring.

Re: Jordi's 1986 SJ413 KJA Pickup
I think with new springs and a modded rear arch it'll be fine. Theres loads of room behind it, its just that lip that comes down. May just use the bottom of the tub and weld some plate on at an angle front and rear.
As said, the springs are well n' truly knackered!

Re: Jordi's 1986 SJ413 KJA Pickup
the new tyres look good , little close though but i recon a 1.5inch lift spring will do the job
