Whats the best way to see how much articulation and flex the springs have on my none running sj 410?
I need to decide if they are better then the ones on my other sj but i cant decide how to do it, i dont really want to swap them over and find they are no better.
Best methods welcome
Stupid question abou articulation
Re: Stupid question abou articulation
i'd just put a jack under the shock mount and jack it up until a one of the other 3 wheel lifts. However shocks will come into play as well as springs.
Re: Stupid question abou articulation
That won't apply the full amount of leverage really. I use my engine hoist attached the a wheel but if you haven't got an engine hoist you really need to drive it up a ramp.
Is this the one with parabolics? If so I can almost certainly say the rascals and rears up front set up will give you more flex.

Re: Stupid question abou articulation
Both of the sj's are right next to my 2 poster, maybe i can use that somehow instead of a engine hoist?
The non running 1.6 has the parabolics on it, the 410 has standard springs on it and the suposably rascle ones lay on the workshop floor next to i think 6 other standard ones.
Are parabolics really not that good then? They look fairly cool, do u think parabolic or bedford springs would lift the truck more?
See if anyone can work this out, how much lift these springs are giving on truck 1?
Truck 1 (this is 1'' higher than truck 2)
3 inch body lift kit
27 inch tyres
Shackles front and rear bolt hole to bolt hole 7 1/4 inches
parabolics springs
Truck 2 (this is my road truck and is 1'' lower than truck 1) :(
2 inch body kit (home made)
31 inch tyres
Shackles front and rear bolt hole to bolt hole 5 3/4 inches
standard springs
