models of suzuki 4x4's

Post by plugspanner » Mon Dec 10, 2012 2:18 pm

i am wondering if there is any interest in scale models of 3 of the suzuki 4x4 family, the sj, vitara & jimny?
i do not mean the small matchbox ready made diecasts which you can get in toy shops but scale models with things like winch bumpers, knobly tyres, lifted ect, possibly even painted like your own ones.
i am a profesional modeller who has just bought a swb vitara and i fancy making a replica of what i am hoping to do to mine, my son has an sj416 and his mate has a jimny so getting the details would be easy.
this is the sort of things i make for model collectors in the same scale as the horby railways and the smaller airfix models:-

toyota land cruiser spec ops.

dutch g wagen spec ops.

a couple of hilux's.

light weight land rover.

just toying with a few ideas at present.
thanks

hi
i would need to see a pic of it, but the intention is to have a std body and a generic set of big knoblies, with a bullbar cum winch bumper, maybe a rear bumper and then just paint it nearest the colour of the buyers vehicle.
i have yet to decide on a scale at present so that will have a big impact on pricing ect.
those models in the pics are to a scale slightly smaller than the matchbox cars size and only come unmade and unpainted, and are aimed at a different market and costs range from £7.50 to over £12 ea.
if i do go ahead i will anounce it here
thanks for the comments,
shaun

the closest thing i have seen to the SJ series is this model kit made by FUJIMI, they make some pretty cool stuff!

i saw a model LJ80 once the same size as the ones you make.
cheers

thanks for the link
those 1/24th scale models are quite large and are kits so need to made up and painted, but are quite rare in the uk sadly.
my ones will be in a smaller scale though.

You can also make a model of the LJ80?
If yes, then I would like to order a model of my own LJ80 (with trailer?).
