As some of you might know I also ride BMX and help build and maintain the trails in Bath. winter is spent digging ready for the summer but we might have a slight issue

It's all good Tom, there's not enough current to do any major damage. It happens every year but I haven't seen it this deep for a few! I have seen it so deep that you couldn't actually see the tops of the jumps before as well though

Gona be a bit soggy underfoot when that drains. I heard it had been bad down that way. At the moment it's not too bad up north.

Hope it drains and doesnt do much damage scottie.

Yeah it's a flood plain, however finding hassle free places to build trails is a nightmare, this is private land and we have permission to be there so we have no risk of loosing the trails. It's common for local councils to butt in and get them ploughed so you gotta make do with whatever site you can find. My mates started this place about 14 years ago and the council did try to get the place levelled years ago but they have up in the end luckily!

Where we've dug down below the original level of the ground the water actually rises up through the floor as the water table comes up. There's not enough current coming through where the trails are to do any damage, they'll be fine! Might even do them some good to have a thorough soak ;)

Roll on next summer though! Can't wait to ride trails again!

Some of the places I used to downhill at flooded at the end or in the bomb holes. Was a right laugh seeing people who obviously hadn't checked the trails before riding. Was similar to Olympic diving in some respects :hahaha:
