Its a beast!
I have more pics but no data allowance left on my phone!
Manifold and distributor were converted by tim pink
It did have an adapter plate on it but I changed the gearbox recently and removed it.
You don't really need it anyway.
It runs really really well!!! >:)

Re: 1600 16v on carb?
what about fueling? what other parts will i need?
Re: 1600 16v on carb?
You also need to modify a dizzy housing to run the distributor off an 8v carbed motor.
To be honest if I was fitting a 16v I would go through the extra effort of running the fuel injection.

Fuelling - I just have a cheapy facet fuel pump... seems to work quite well!
I think a pump that does up to 4.5-5 psi may be best for the engine.
I at some point will be purchasing a high pressure pump and a regulator.
.... and IMHO injection is just more stuff to go wrong! SU all the way

Yeah the system itself may be reliable but i think it's just introducing more items that can fail...
such as £60 lambda sensors and stuff like that.... and lots of extra wiring
and you must know by now how much I enjoy deep water and injection isnt too keen on that!

Nor are carburettors really.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
