Another Suzuki toy!
I've done it again, I can't seem to help myself. Instead of actually spending money on my real SJ I've bought a suzuki toy instead! At least I know I can afford to run this one! Something else to add to my suzuki toy collection - I know 'what a geek!'

Ace I'm pretty sure I had one of those when I was 6-7
The new r/c one looks awesome, that's just a motorised one isn't it?

Yeah its just x2 AA's running a little motor which turns all x4 wheels, its actually a bit shit on anything rough as it gets shocking diff wind up! It's amazing how it locks everything up, but still something for the lad to play with (& me too!) I got it from eBay,

£10.26,
Assembling it was easy with no glue required
Yeah I like the new 410 body by tamiya, it looks really good & I fancy buying one, but dont have any chassis to put it on!

Re: Another Suzuki toy!
great! you have a wonderful collection, I've started my own but its no where near as extensive as yours!
I have this model tamiya (above)
I also have some fujima SJ's
(I have another half completed which I intend to finish at some point)
Then I also have the 1:10 Speedway Pal body on a home made chassis with Losi Mini rock crawler Radio controlled car parts (I made/modified a lot of it)

Don't suppose you'd take a commission for one of those 1:10 SJs?

And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I'm sorry edd I just dont think I could make one to a high enough standard to sell, when its your own you can overlook the imperfections, also they are bloody expensive just for the parts alone, I hate to think how much it would cost including labour, TBH they aren't hard to build and I can walk you through what to do if you wanted to make your own, on the other hand you could just buy the tamiya SJ410 and run it as is,Edweird wrote:Don't suppose you'd take a commission for one of those 1:10 SJs?

Okay, no worries Luke. Don't suppose you could give me a list of what you used to build it and some photos showing how the final version's put together (the chassis was the main thing that was custom wasn't it?). Obviously the Losi bits are going to be the expensive part but if most of them are from the same Losi truck (A 1:10 rock crawler right) then I might be able to get one of their B'n'D trucks because I already have a MLST2 RTR (which needs a new set of diff to hub half shafts so I can't use it at the minute).

Re: Another Suzuki toy!
Yeah, the biggest expense would be the Losi mini rock crawler, followed by the tyres & wheels, then the body itself, everything else is consumable, I made my own chassis because I wanted too, you don't have to, Scott didn't. The chassis I made from 3mm Ali sheet (from eBay) and 1mm steel sheet to make the cross members, wheelbase wise its just the same as a standard mini rock crawler, all my measurements are the same but I just wanted a longer section above more like a ladder chassis but not so, I have my plans if you want them but the chassis certainly isn't perfect, the front shockers bind a little due to how I angled them and the rear shockers don't 'look' right as they are angled as I got my measurements a little wrong.
