hi guys, sorry its been a while, ive been pretty busy with work and stuff.
the sj is still going, all be a few problems
had a rather eventful trip to Tavistock in it. the su was running a bit weak and she kept back firing and
cutting out. 10 seconds with a screwdriver and she was all good!!
however its done it again a couple times now in the cold weather. plodding along bout 40 ish, cold and p*ssing down with rain, she dies, no warning or anything. fired her back up and all was fine...
a mechanic friend said it could be where im missing the warm air intake and the s.u is freezing up? so i have some jobs for the weekend it would seem...
does anyone know the diameter of the air intake on the 410 santana? just so i can order some up?
its good to be back!!
steve

Re: i'm back!
Back firing ore likely to be an ignition problem I would think, dizzy cap/rotor/wiring etc?

Re: i'm back!
yeah i managed to sort that on arrival at the campsite last month. not a single back fire now
hover on a rare occasion it does suddenly die. but after it'll fire back up without fault. rather strange i must admit. have you had any experience with this happening? it only happens on a rare occasion as i said.
im running an su on a f10a engine if that helps.
not had this happen in the year or so that i've had her
cheers dude

back! That sounds like it could be a case of carb freeze, I had it a few times yesterday morning in mine! are you running the SU with the stock air box? if so run a hot air feed from above the exhaust manifold
